Become part of a purpose-driven team that is dedicated to achieving results within an inclusive and high-performing culture.

The Senior Manager is responsible for executing Hedging Strategies in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This role ensures that the Bank qualifies eligible derivatives for hedge accounting treatment, effectively mitigating any fluctuations in the Bank's earnings and enhancing value across various business lines. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical accounting expertise across a diverse range of financial products, valuations, analyses, and reporting. You will engage with global business partners and manage a variety of projects aimed at improving operational processes. Our dynamic team operates on a hybrid model, combining both in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the month-end closing process by reviewing, reconciling, analyzing, and communicating hedge accounting results for different hedging units to Group Treasury and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review documentation for quarterly submissions and annual financial disclosures, as well as provide guidance for ad-hoc analyses and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate group initiatives and projects, including the implementation of new hedging strategies and upcoming standards such as dynamic risk management.
  • Enhance operational processes and internal controls by collaborating with team members, regulatory risk governance, and auditors.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory governance and auditors on various control exercises and audit requests.
  • Coordinate and execute team-wide control activities and other ad-hoc responsibilities.
  • Stay informed about emerging industry best practices for hedge qualification through research and critical analysis of publications from regulatory bodies and industry associations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving skills, along with effective time management and communication abilities.
  • Proactive and innovative, with a proven track record of planning and managing competing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong capability to analyze and document complex processes and procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of hedge accounting, finance, and financial products, including various derivatives.
  • A post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. A CPA designation is required, while a CFA designation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with trading systems such as Peak, PeopleSoft EGL, OBI, Excel, and PowerPoint.

What We Offer:

  • An inclusive and collaborative work environment that fosters creativity and celebrates success.
  • A competitive rewards package, including performance bonuses, an Employee Share Ownership Program, pension plan matching, and health benefits from day one.
  • Opportunities for career development and progression.
