Position Overview

Pathfind is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Accountant to join our team, focusing on our construction clientele. This full-time role will report directly to the Controller and will play a crucial part in delivering financial insights, project costing, and revenue analysis.

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate

  • A Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or equivalent post-secondary education, with significant professional experience considered in lieu of formal education.
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA credentials is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in an accounting capacity, with supervisory experience being advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of experience specifically in project accounting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial, operational, and cost reporting along with analytical skills.
  • Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and enhancing business processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software, with strong skills in MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Maestro software is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain productive relationships with vendors, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Effective team player who thrives in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver precise and timely financial and operational reports.
  • Reconcile completed projects, ensuring the accuracy of costs and revenues.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report on financial information related to project revenues and costs.
  • Provide project status updates and analytical insights to Project Managers and Controllers.
  • Manage month-end processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Oversee monthly intercompany reconciliations.
  • Transform data into actionable business analysis for strategic decision-making by key stakeholders.
  • Support the year-end audit process.
  • Supervise monthly project accounting details and reporting.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning initiatives.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of internal systems and controls to minimize inefficiencies in financial processes.
  • Aid in the documentation and implementation of internal controls to ensure policy consistency.
  • Mentor and develop direct and indirect reports through ongoing coaching.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
