Job Summary
The Warehouse Worker (Material Handler) will be responsible for performing various warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
- Be responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading and unloading of trucks.
- Deal with day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment, including picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, and other related documents.
- Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
- Candidate must be able to provide government IDs or documents to prove their status, such as a birth certificate, passport, a valid Ontario driver's license, or utility bills showing their current address.
- Candidate must be able to pass an RCMP fingerprint background check.
- Candidate must have a good command of the English language.
- Candidate must be able to provide personal references and professional references for the past 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidate must have a good command of English.
- Diploma/GED preferred.
- One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
- Valid Forklift Operator's License certified preferred.
- Experience with automated pick and pack systems.
- Familiarization with automated warehouse management system is an asset (PKMS).
- Experience with an RF scanner.
- Experience with MS Office.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to Lift and/or push/pull up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Be a team player and work within a diverse work environment.
- Can Work by using health and safety methods.
- Punctuality and good attendance record.
- Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
