Our client, a firm specializing in engineering projects, is looking to appoint a Financial Controller. In this pivotal role, you will be a proactive professional and the primary support to the President and the Accounting team.

In this newly established position, reporting directly to the President/owner, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Identifying and participating in the execution of enhancement strategies, as necessary
  2. Preparing and reviewing monthly and annual financial reports along with supporting documentation
  3. Establishing and assessing internal controls
  4. Creating KPIs, budgets, and forecasts
  5. Managing processes related to divisional accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset oversight
  6. Delivering insightful analysis of both direct and indirect operational expenses to Management
  7. Providing a range of ad-hoc financial reports upon request
  8. Advising support personnel on general accounting and financial reporting systems, policies, procedures, and requirements
  9. Overseeing the preparation of government filings, as necessary
  10. Supervising year-end audits and liaising with external parties such as financial institutions
  11. Fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring staff awareness of company policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
Qualifications:
  1. Accounting designation (CPA) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a comparable role
  2. Experience in the manufacturing sector
  3. Analytical mindset, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal oversight
  4. Hands-on approach, autonomy, diplomacy, perseverance, rigor, and adaptability
  5. Strong leadership skills in supporting, training, and motivating staff
