Gerda S.A. is seeking a skilled Millwright Technician to join our team. As a Millwright Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, installing, repairing, and replacing mechanical equipment in our plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Install, repair, and replace mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Receive and execute work orders, prints, and instructions from the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Determine the best course of action to minimize production interruptions and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Advise on the need for immediate shutdown of equipment to prevent damage or ensure safe operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, repairs, and materials used on CMMS, work orders, logbooks, and checklists.
  • Perform regular machinery checks and identify abnormalities using checklists or digital tools.
  • Operate power-driven mobile equipment and ordinary crane hooking.
Requirements
  • Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Mechanic/Millwright – A) as recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario is required.
  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, with exposure to Bearings, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Lubrication, Rotating Equipment.
  • Strong communication and work ethic, ability to work in a team and with other trades.
  • Basic computer experience.
