About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Apprentice Machinist to join our team at Steelserv Corp. As an Apprentice Machinist, you will play a crucial role in the production process, working closely with our experienced machinists to ensure the highest quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Production
    • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to understand production requirements.
  • Production
    • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools to meet production needs.
    • Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, ensuring precision and quality.
    • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
    • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
    • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality products.
    • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Quality Control
    • Inspect products for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet production standards.
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring attention to detail and ability to work independently.
    • Stand for extended periods and lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) as needed.

    • Develop efficient interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues.
