Job Title: Director, Philanthropy and Campaigns

Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Philanthropy and Campaigns to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will contribute to the organization's strategies, plans, and successes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement annual fundraising plans to enhance leadership/major gift revenue and campaign initiatives.
  • Provide exceptional fundraising and relationship management expertise to benefit HHSF's mission.
  • Lead the strategy development and implementation for the fundraising programs within the Philanthropy & Campaigns portfolio.
  • Build strong and productive relationships to maximize revenue generation.
  • Manage a personal portfolio of relationships with great confidence and skill, including prospects and donors at the $500,000+ level.
Requirements:
  • Ten (10+) years of progressive fundraising and management experience, with demonstrated success in the non-profit/charitable sector.
  • Demonstrated people management and leadership experience within a cross-functional structure.
  • Significant experience facilitating successful relationships at the $500,000- $1 million plus giving level.
  • Post-secondary education in business, event, communications, public relations, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Certificate in development, fundraising, or event planning an asset.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset.
  • Experience in campaign management and implementation an asset.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills to engage, negotiate, and influence senior stakeholders, including major donors, corporate partners, and community leaders.
  • Proven track record to constantly deliver fundraising goals, with ability to achieve results and growth of program management.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize tasks in a positive and effective manner, meeting critical deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze data and results to drive, process improvements, recommendations, strategic decision-making, and program enhancements.
  • Ability to condense and package information in a visually appealing and logical manner.
  • Ability to manage relationships and motivate others to accomplish specific tasks.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of ethical practice.
  • Understand the need for professionalism, discretion, and patience when communicating with donors and volunteers.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft applications (365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), CANVA, data entry into and reporting from database system, and chat and video conferencing programs.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge/NXT fundraising software an asset.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and have the professionalism to interact directly with senior executives across the Foundation.
  • Positively contribute to a supportive and inclusive organizational culture is mandatory.
  • Highly effective people leadership skills with demonstrated employee coaching, mentorship, and development skills.
  • Acts as a role model to staff and others, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity.
  • Experience with developing and managing a budget.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive hiring range of $120,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience, along with an annual performance-based incentive program, subject to Board approval.
