About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Little Hands Montessori Academy. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure a high standard of care and education.
  • Activity Leadership: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Child Engagement: Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Health and Safety: Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, and supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements
  • Education: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Work Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Language: English
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week
