Ubisoft Montreal is seeking a highly skilled Animation Programmer to join our Content Creation Technology Group. As a key member of our team, you will design and develop innovative animation solutions that bring our games to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with animation and programming teams to understand game animation needs and design adapted solutions.
  • Analyze existing animation features to identify technological limitations and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop procedural IK animation systems that enable the creation of dynamic, interactive worlds.
  • Maintain and optimize IK animation systems for new projects.
  • Program in a clear, structured manner, prioritizing performance, memory, maintenance, compatibility, and portability.
  • Combine technical and artistic expertise to create visually stunning animation systems.
  • Research and develop new animation techniques, such as procedural and physics-based animation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and share knowledge with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in C++ and Visual Studio.
  • Strong 3D math skills.
  • Experience with animation techniques, including rigging, state machines, physics ragdolls, and inverse kinematics.
  • Experience with DCC tools and the animation field.
  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or related training).
  • Attention to detail to optimize system performance.
