We are seeking a skilled and motivated Railway Car Repair Technician to join our team at Railcare. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our freight rail cars.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and repair interior and exterior components of freight rail cars to determine defects and extent of wear and damage
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to identify repair requirements
- Operate mobile cranes and forklifts to move equipment and materials
- Coach and instruct apprentices in repair techniques and safety procedures
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company policies and procedures
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Valid driver's licence and ability to operate a vehicle
- Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment, with frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
