Position Overview: Taxation Specialist

The City of Laval is in search of dedicated individuals to fulfill the role of Taxation Specialist within the Finance department. This position involves a variety of tax-related responsibilities aimed at delivering precise and effective customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the public with inquiries related to taxation and payment modifications;
  • Draft and dispatch necessary correspondence in response to written requests;
  • Perform research to address tax adjustment inquiries;
  • Accurately process billing information;
  • Maintain and update tax records as required;
  • Manage tax payments and other revenue-related transactions.

Qualifications:

    • DEC in Accounting or a related field;
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service and payment adjustments;
    • Experience in cash handling;
    • Exceptional attention to detail and strong customer service abilities;
    • Fluency in French and working knowledge of English;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
