Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Financial Planner, you will be responsible for:
1. Delivering comprehensive financial plans by:
- Conducting in-depth client discovery to gather essential data.
- Analyzing and preparing detailed financial plans and executive summaries tailored to client needs.
- Presenting financial strategies and identifying opportunities to enhance client relationships and drive business growth.
2. Serving as a champion for financial planning within Scotia Wealth Management by:
- Providing ongoing expert advice on complex financial strategies.
- Encouraging Advisors and Relationship Managers to integrate financial planning into their practices.
- Promoting the value and benefits of financial planning to both clients and internal teams.
3. Collaborating with internal experts (including tax, insurance, and estate planning professionals) to ensure a cohesive approach to financial planning.
4. Facilitating workshops and seminars for clients and staff on relevant financial planning topics.
Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain professional relationships with external experts (such as accountants and lawyers) to optimize service delivery on complex planning issues. Build strong connections with internal advisors and team members to foster collaboration and enhance service levels.
Professional Standards:
Maintain high standards of professional practice in financial planning by:
1. Staying updated on financial planning topics and adhering to best practices and professional codes of conduct.
2. Meeting or exceeding service level agreements (SLAs).
3. Actively participating in team development activities and contributing to team performance.
Required Qualifications:
- University degree.
- Accredited financial planning designation (CFP, RFP, PFP, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in high net worth financial planning.
- Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese.
Preferred Qualifications:
- TEP designation.
- Life Insurance license.
- Professional designations (CA, CMA, CGA, LLB).
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course.
- Additional courses in estate and/or tax planning.
