Senior Digital ASIC/FPGA Verification Expert

About the Role:
Ciena Canada, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Digital Verification Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our verification team, you will be responsible for proposing and implementing innovative verification strategies to thoroughly simulate and validate functional blocks and subsystems for our Wavelogic family of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive digital verification and coverage strategies
- Collaborate with systems engineers and architects to understand project architecture and functional requirements
- Responsible for the complete and detailed validation of entire subsystems using simulation, formal, and coverage methods
- Create, review, and optimize simulation environment components, test case scenarios, and functional coverage and formal verification test plans
- Lead focused groups of individuals, mentor them, and manage their priorities toward reaching specific objectives
- Estimate schedules and track them toward timely completion while providing clear and precise status updates
Requirements:
- BEng/BSc, MEng/MSc, or PhD degree in electrical or computer engineering or computer science
- Expert-level understanding of System Verilog, UVM, SVA, and simulators from major vendors
- Validated ability to apply comprehensive and optimized digital verification and coverage strategies
- Excellent organization, written, and oral English communication skills
Assets:
- Experience with formal verification methods
- Experience with standards and protocols such as OTN/FlexO/B100G, Ethernet (100GE+)
- Experience with using GIT for source code management and revision tracking
- Experience with using Jira for schedule planning, assignment tracking, and bug reporting
