Job Title: Associate Vice President, Legal Counsel

Norquest College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Vice President, Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic legal advice and guidance to support the College's mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the College's leadership team, including the President and Vice Presidents.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to support the College's business objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the College's legal affairs, including contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and support to College staff on legal matters.
Requirements:
  • Law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior legal role, preferably in a post-secondary institution.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including CASL and FOIP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
