Role Summary

As an Electronics Technician - Apprentice, you'll play a vital role within our Maintenance department, focusing on electrical systems and preventative maintenance for all Calfrac equipment. Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Manager, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Repair and maintain all electrical equipment and components belonging to Calfrac.
  • Manage and update all recording and control software systems.
  • Implement updates and modifications as requested.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist in scheduling repairs and managing associated costs.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of fracturing, coiled tubing, and cementing operations.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Flexibility to work various shifts (including shift work, day shift, and night shift).
  • Strict adherence to safe work procedures, codes, and regulations.
  • Energetic self-starter capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively by prioritizing and maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Motivated individual who inspires others to achieve high performance levels.
  • Ability to work under physically demanding circumstances.
  • Proficiency in writing reports and collaborating closely with maintenance administration personnel.
  • Experience operating process control equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Education and Experience

  • Enrolled in or actively pursuing an accredited one or two-year technical school program or Journeyman Instrumentation Certification.
  • Solid understanding and experience with basic hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with electric over hydraulic/air and PLC systems is highly advantageous.
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Technical training diploma or certificate in electronics is recommended.
  • Knowledge of electronic control systems, QA-QC procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
