About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our research team at the Vancouver Prostate Centre. The successful candidate will be involved in conducting cutting-edge research to understand the role of RNA regulatory networks in health and disease.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in RNA biology, focusing on the mechanism of regulation of mRNA translation in prostate cancer.
  • Assist in preparing manuscripts and research proposals for publication and funding.
  • Liaise with collaborators and present research findings in international conferences.
  • Train undergraduate and graduate students in research techniques and methodologies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Experience in cell culture, immunofluorescence microscopy, live cell imaging, in-situ hybridization, mass spectrometry, purification of recombinant proteins using prokaryotic expression systems, isolation of polysome mRNA, electrophoretic mobility shift assays, qRT-PCR, and co-immunoprecipitation.
  • Knowledgeable in statistics, RNA sequence and proteomics data analysis, and database management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this Postdoctoral Fellowship is $50,000 to $60,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
