As a Long-Distance Freight Driver with JTG Trucking, you will play a crucial role in the transportation of goods across various locations. This position requires a commitment to safety and efficiency while ensuring timely delivery of cargo.
Educational Requirements- Completion of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
The role involves operating in diverse settings, primarily on long-haul routes.
Key Responsibilities- Acquire necessary permits and documentation for international cargo transport.
- Drive and manage straight or articulated trucks for the safe delivery of goods.
- Conduct emergency roadside repairs as needed.
- Perform thorough inspections before, during, and after trips, ensuring vehicle safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
- Secure cargo with tarps and ensure its safety throughout the journey.
- Must possess an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
- A valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) is essential.
Familiarity with maintaining a driver logbook is required.
Safety and SecurityA clean driving record is necessary for this position.
ExperienceNo prior experience is required as training will be provided. This is a permanent position with a commitment of 40 to 60 hours of work per week, primarily in English.
