Job Summary

Sotera Health is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Installation & Service team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of our industrial sterilization equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and commission Nordion's key product line, Cobalt60 sources, into large full-scale production irradiators.
  • Participate in the assembly and testing of irradiator equipment as required.
  • Conduct field service duties, including replenishment, maintenance, repair, and other related tasks.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Contribute to various projects related to industrial sterilization equipment.
  • Travel globally to support customer-facing roles and projects.

Requirements

  • Electrical license (309A or 442A) or Electrical Technician with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Millwright license (433A) or Instrumentation technician license (447A).
  • A 4th year apprentice would also be considered for any of the above-listed trades.
  • Field service or project coordination role with demonstrated success in nuclear, electrical, or mechanically focused projects is an asset.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience interfacing with customers.

Additional Requirements

  • Overtime is required.
  • Able to travel internationally (required to travel an average of 180 days per year).
  • Nordion requires pre-employment medical screening to be accepted as cleared prior to start date.
  • Background verification includes FBI fingerprinting and criminal record check.
  • Valid Canadian passport.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Job Demands

  • Good manual dexterity and grip strength.
  • Lift at least 25kgs on an occasional basis.
  • Sustained physical work in a hot environment (destination dependent).
  • May require work in confined places.
  • May require working from heights.

Training Required

  • Must complete all required training and certification as a Nuclear Energy Worker.
