Position Overview

As a Thermal Insulation Specialist at Six Star Homes Inc, you will play a crucial role in enhancing energy efficiency and comfort within residential and commercial structures. Your expertise in insulation will contribute to the overall quality and safety of our projects.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year in a related field is preferred.
Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a construction setting, where you will be actively involved in various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select appropriate types of insulation materials based on project specifications.
  • Provide guidance and training to apprentices in insulation techniques.
  • Measure and cut insulation materials accurately using both hand and power tools.
  • Apply insulation using various methods such as spraying, blowing, and taping.
  • Fit insulation around structural elements, ensuring a snug and effective installation.
  • Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials as required.
  • Oversee the work of other team members to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Apply waterproofing materials over insulation to enhance durability.
  • Fabricate and install removable insulation pads and covers for maintenance purposes.
  • Estimate project costs and required materials for insulation tasks.
  • Assemble and dismantle scaffolding and hoisting equipment as needed.
  • Safely remove hazardous insulation materials, including asbestos and lead.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to execute tasks accurately.
Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

Tools and Equipment
  • Must possess personal safety equipment, including steel-toed safety boots and a hard hat.
Work Schedule

This position typically requires working between 30 to 40 hours per week.
