The Commercial Credit Manager will be responsible for reviewing loan analyses and approving applications within prescribed limits. Training and Guidance

The incumbent will provide ongoing training and guidance to staff members, including regular staff meetings and one-on-one discussions. They will also be responsible for ensuring that team members adhere to company policies and guidelines.

Portfolio Management

The Commercial Credit Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of CMHC portfolio management, excluding CMHC annual reviews. This includes proactively managing upcoming maturities, monitoring the CMHC Maturities Pipeline, and coordinating the quarterly CMHC Servicing audit.

Employee Targets and Performance Reviews

The incumbent will prepare and conduct employee targets and performance reviews as well as interview candidates for available positions.

Communication

The Commercial Credit Manager will communicate with internal contacts and external contacts to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner.

Administrative and Reporting Duties

The incumbent will be responsible for various administrative and reporting duties required for the department/Company.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting commercial real estate transactions, including CMHC-insured multi-unit commercial mortgages. They will also have a post-secondary education, preferably in business or finance, and strong leadership and coaching skills.

The candidate will also have a working knowledge of AML/ATF regulations and Corporate/Legal documentation for commercial real estate in multiple jurisdictions across Canada. They will be able to thrive in a constantly changing environment and perform well in a high volume, high intensity environment.

The incumbent will be able to inspire a team to work toward a set of goals and objectives and have highly developed verbal and written communication skills. They will also have sound technical knowledge of commercial real estate underwriting, financial statement analysis, and factors affecting the commercial mortgage market.

The ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple competing priorities and make decisions under pressure. They will also be proficient in MS Office.
