Job Title: Registered Practical Nurses

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Homewood Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with addictions and mental health diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to patients with addictions and/or mental health diagnoses
  • Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs according to CNO standards, RNAO Best Practice Guidelines, and specific program philosophy
  • Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments
  • Ensure necessary clinical assessments are initiated following admission and at various times
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members as appropriate
  • Act as a preceptor, mentor, coach, or resource nurse as needed
Requirements:
  • Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
  • Up to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), documentation standards (CNO), and privacy legislation (PHIPA)
  • Ability to effectively manage crisis situations and deal with acutely ill patients
  • Strong interpersonal skills and respectful communication style with patients, families, and staff
