As a Department Head - Hospital Medicine, you will play a critical role in leading our hospital medicine team to deliver high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Site Operations Committee to ensure effective communication and collaboration among hospital departments.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the regional department and hospital staff, ensuring that regional objectives and policies are communicated and implemented.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Department Head to recommend appointments, renewals, and privileges for medical staff.
  • Coordinate program requirements and ensure that they are aligned with hospital goals and objectives.
  • Promote health and wellness among hospital staff and encourage a respectful and inclusive work environment.
  • Investigate and document complaints regarding care provided by hospital staff, under the direction of the Regional Department Head or Site Medical Director.
  • Contribute to the search and selection of applicants for vacancies in the regional department.
  • Conduct morbidity and mortality reviews to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Active privileges with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
  • Member of the Department of Hospital Medicine
