Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Concurrent Disorders Counsellor to join the Daytox Program team at Robert and Lily Lee Family Community Health Centre in Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide screening and assessment services to clients with concurrent mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address both mental health and substance use issues.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the management of cases and coordinate care.
  • Participate in case conferences and meetings to identify and manage client mental health issues.
  • Contribute to program development and provide education services to meet the needs of the population with concurrent disorders.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a Behavioural Health Discipline from a recognized program.
  • Three (3) years' recent related experience providing professional services to individuals with substance abuse and mental health issues.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of psychotherapeutic and counselling skills.
  • Broad knowledge of bio-psycho-social issues related to mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Broad knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders and their interaction.
  • Broad knowledge of DSM IV diagnostic classification system and case formulation.
  • Broad knowledge of psychopharmacology.
  • Broad knowledge of legislation, government policies, and procedures related to the client.
  • Broad knowledge of healthcare and community services available to the applicable client group.
