Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Process Engineer to join our team at Laporte. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting and leading process engineering requirements for client projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in client needs and project definition
- Review client specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Lead all project phases, including conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs
- Develop and review engineering deliverables, maintaining high standards of quality and defining project risks
- Conduct site visits and surveys for project-related activities
- Manage deliverables and project execution, with a focus on process and utilities design
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary design teams across North America
- Chair project team meetings and maintain detailed understanding of local codes and standards
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
- 3-10 years of progressive experience in process design for the food, beverage, or biotech industry
- Experience in designing fluid and bulk materials handling processes, including preparation of process flow diagrams and heat and material balances
- Familiarity with CFIA and HACCP requirements
- Provincial (P.Eng) or State (PE) designation or eligibility
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements
- Strong leadership, relationship management, and organizational planning and project management skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and influence clients, suppliers, and peers
- Excellent communication skills and ability to transfer knowledge to others
- Flexibility to travel to manufacturing sites as needed
