Position Overview

The Institute for Performance and Learning is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Electrical Engineering Trainee (E.I.T.) role.

This position is integral to our commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative solutions in electrical transmission and distribution. Our team is dedicated to managing electrical infrastructure, customer connections, and future planning of our electrical systems.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Electrical, Civil, or Material Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the development of engineering standards and business plans.
  2. Ensure timely project deliverables by establishing priorities and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  3. Review and educate team members on relevant policies, standards, and regulations.
  4. Collaborate with the Engineering Standards Manager to create and implement electrical distribution standards.
  5. Support the creation and upkeep of specifications for materials, equipment, and apparatus.
  6. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective project execution.
  7. Develop and document innovative engineering solutions tailored to customer needs.
  8. Contribute to the enhancement of standards, specifications, and operational processes.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  2. Registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate engineering regulatory body as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T).
  3. Familiarity with electrical distribution systems is advantageous.
  4. Knowledge of relevant codes and standards is a plus.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, adapting to evolving project requirements. A proactive approach, teamwork, and effective communication skills are essential for success in this role.
