Position Overview

Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical power systems and equipment.
  • Support the design, development, and testing phases of projects.
  • Assist in creating estimates, schedules, specifications, and detailed reports.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and adjustments of electronic components.
  • Calibrate and maintain electronic instruments and equipment.
  • Help in building and testing prototypes according to specifications.
  • Gather and analyze operational or experimental data.
  • Set up and operate specialized testing equipment to evaluate the performance of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Prepare design concepts and models for review and approval.
  • Develop and implement software programs.
  • Write, modify, and test software code for various applications.
  • Communicate technical challenges and solutions effectively.
  • Document the status, operation, and maintenance of software through reports and manuals.
  • Assist in gathering user requirements and developing specifications.
  • Maintain existing software programs through necessary modifications.
  • Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Qualifications
  • Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related field.
  • Certifications: Certified Computing Professional (CCP), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET).
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in programming languages and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk REVIT.
  • Knowledge of automated and robotic systems.
