VCA Canada is seeking a reliable and friendly Animal Care Attendant to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about animal welfare and are eager to contribute to the daily operations of our veterinary facility.
The primary focus of this position will be within the Internal Medicine department, with potential opportunities to assist in other areas as needed. Previous experience in a veterinary environment is advantageous.
- Provide attentive care to our patients, including feeding, walking, and offering comfort through gentle interaction.
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and comfortable living conditions for the animals.
- Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere for both pets and their owners.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills, ensuring a welcoming environment for all.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to uphold the facility's standards.
- Show a willingness to learn about veterinary services and stay updated on medical practices.
- Demonstrate compassion and a nurturing demeanor towards all animals.
- Maintain composure in high-pressure situations while delivering quality care.
- Adapt to changing circumstances and tasks as required.
- Collaborate effectively with veterinary staff to assist in various procedures and treatments.
- Be flexible in working across different areas of the hospital as needed.
Our Animal Care Attendants in Internal Medicine have the unique opportunity to learn from experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians and board-certified specialists.
Work Schedule: 4 shifts of 10 hours each per week.
