About the Role

RideCo On-Demand Transit is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our small, agile team managing our cloud infrastructure and internal engineering infrastructure. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the transformation of the transportation technology industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Architectural Changes: Design and implement architectural changes that improve performance and uptime of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop Monitoring and Alerting: Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and stability of our infrastructure.
  • Build and Introduce Tools: Build or introduce tools that streamline development and deployment processes, maximizing the utilization of cloud resources.
  • Maximize Cloud Resource Utilization: Optimize cloud resource utilization to balance performance and cost.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or Related Discipline: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ Years of Experience in Software Development Environments: A minimum of 5 years of experience working in software development environments is required.
  • System Administration Experience: Experience with system administration, particularly with Linux, is required.
  • CI/CD Experience: Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, such as Jenkins, is required.
  • Cloud Expertise: Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, EC2, ECS, and RDS, is required.
  • Automation Experience: Strong predilection for automation, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Terraform, is required.
  • Scripting Skills: Strong scripting skills, particularly with Python and Shell, are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Python Programming Experience: Experience with Python programming language and Python web application development is preferred.
  • Web Server Deployment Experience: Experience with web server deployments and performance tuning is preferred.
  • Container Orchestration Experience: Experience with container orchestration, such as Kubernetes and ECS, is preferred.
  • Database Experience: Experience with databases, such as PostgreSQL and Redis, is preferred.
  • High Availability Caching Experience: Experience with high availability caching, such as Redis and nginx proxy, is preferred.
  • Container-Based Build Infrastructure Experience: Experience with container-based build infrastructures, such as Docker and pipelines, is preferred.

  • Base Salary: A competitive base salary, ranging from $120,000 to $150,000, plus performance-based bonus and stock options.
