About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Gemini Machine Works Inc. as a key member of our manufacturing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts with precision and accuracy.
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly, ensuring efficient production processes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to inform production decisions.
  • Repair machine tools and parts, maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
  • Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, adhering to strict quality standards.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments, ensuring accurate measurements and quality control.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports, providing valuable insights for process optimization.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, ensuring accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools, demonstrating expertise and adaptability.
Requirements
  • Machinist Trade Certification.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Experience with automatic lathes, boring machines, broaching machines, drill presses, electrical discharge machines (EDM), engine lathes, milling machines, and single-purpose production machines.
  • Ability to work independently, with a focus on quality and productivity.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
