Position Overview:

As a Mathematics Intervention Specialist, you will be integral to fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students in mathematics. Collaborating with a passionate team of educators, you will adapt instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of each learner, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed. Your expertise in developing numeracy skills will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Math Department to enhance math intervention strategies across the school.
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of a comprehensive curriculum focused on numeracy and fluency skill development.
  • Design and implement multisensory educational resources to support diverse learning styles.
  • Provide co-teaching support and individualized assistance to students in mathematics.
  • Facilitate small group tutoring sessions for high school mathematics.
  • Assist educators in utilizing assessment tools to identify students' foundational skills.
  • Evaluate student learning profiles and offer guidance to teachers on effective instructional approaches.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Valid Teacher Certification in British Columbia.
  • Experience in teaching mathematics to diverse learners.
  • Preferred experience working with students with learning differences.
  • Experience in independent school settings is advantageous.
