Menu Clerk

The Menu Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient services at Southlake Regional Health Centre. As a key member of the healthcare team, this individual is responsible for preparing and distributing patient menus, obtaining meal choices, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and families.

• Prepare and distribute patient menus in a timely and accurate manner
• Obtain patients' meal choices via computer for two meals daily
• Provide front-line service to patients and families, responding to food and meal requests and queries
• Respond to phone calls related to patient feeding, catering, and other department business

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

• Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets
• Experience and/or knowledge in food and nutrition basics
• Demonstrated PC computer skills
• Knowledge of Computrition Computer Application (an asset)
• Knowledge of HBOC (an asset)
• Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets (an asset)
• Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Customer-oriented with a pleasant phone manner
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Problem assessment skills
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Individual leadership skills
• Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families
• Understanding of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion

The successful candidate will possess a minimum Grade 12 education.
