Financial Assistant

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Keethanow Group of Businesses is seeking a highly skilled Finance Assistant to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for assisting the Comptroller and Finance Officers in managing, processing, and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as an ambassador for the company's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence at all times.
- Handle operations of the payments to Accounts Receivable database, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Apply payments accurately and in a timely manner to applicable accounts.
- Maintain monthly reports on Accounts Receivable to assist the Finance Officer.
- Handle employee, customer, and department queries related to billing accounts.
- Maintain purchase orders and invoicing databases.
- Utilize strong database skills to enter, modify, and correct payments in the cashier application.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong ability to work with Excel, Word, and email.
- Basic knowledge of the accounting cycle process.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask day-to-day functions as needed.
- Train and correct employee duties toward A/R as needed.
- Make sound decisions independently for employees and customers.
- Monitor and assist with front-line staff cashier's regulation and advise/report to manager regarding proper procedure.
- Assist with Payroll duties as needed.
- Perform other work-related duties as requested by the immediate supervisor.
- 1-year experience in a retail environment, with a proven track record of excellent customer relationship skills.
- Business Office certificate degree preferred or grade 12 with combined retail/office experience.
- Basic understanding of the accounting cycle.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills. Cree an asset.
- Able to accurately and efficiently work with the Finance Officer and Manager to meet sensitive time lines.
- Proven leadership skills to lead and direct others.
- Able to manage multiple tasks with varying levels of priority.
- Punctual, honest, and reliable.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to manage time efficiently and effectively.
