Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team at Sunrise Farms. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain GMP, HACCP, and BRC systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Directly supervise and train QA and Pre-op technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Provide food safety and quality direction to production, R&D, purchasing, shipping and receiving, maintenance, planning, sanitation, and other departments to ensure that all products meet the required standards.
  • Assist food safety teams with audits, animal welfare audits, and mock recalls to ensure that our products are safe for consumption.
  • Participate in internal food safety and quality audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all non-conformances, deviations, and product holds are properly documented and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain incoming specifications and online profiling spreadsheets to track and trend quality parameters.
  • Ensure that all regulatory requirements, including CFIA and BRC, are met and maintained.
  • Work closely with the QA Manager and plant management/leadership team on special projects to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role with preferably 1 year as supervisor/team leader in a CFIA-regulated meat further processing industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient with MS Suite products, statistical processing platforms, and label system software.
  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills to train, support, and motivate team members.
  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively, multitask, and efficient time management.
  • Sound leadership skills to supervise, train, coach, and discipline team members.
  • Excellent work ethic and accountability, with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Proven analytical, systematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly detail-oriented and focused with excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attendance/punctuality and ability to be adaptable, positive attitude, and professional approach with the willingness to learn.
