The Electrician II will play a crucial role in the installation of new machinery, proactively maintaining systems to avert downtime, and ensuring adherence to GMP standards. Key responsibilities include diagnosing electrical and mechanical failures, maintaining a secure work environment, and collaborating with various departments to optimize plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical and mechanical support across all facility departments.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery within the facility.
- Implement proactive maintenance strategies to address issues before they lead to downtime.
- Ensure that all equipment is designed, installed, and operating in compliance with GMP standards.
- Diagnose and resolve any mechanical or electrical failures in the production process to minimize manufacturing losses.
- Prevent premature equipment breakdown through ongoing preventative maintenance practices.
- Maintain a safe working environment by effectively managing equipment maintenance and ensuring compliance with electrical codes.
- Educate all employees on their responsibilities related to food safety, legality, and quality.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the electrical systems associated with processing and packaging equipment and maintain them accordingly.
- Utilize the SAP system for work documentation, parts management, and time tracking.
- Collaborate with all departments to foster a productive team environment and drive continuous improvement in plant processes.
- Assist in the procurement of electrical components and manage the inventory of essential electrical parts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid license or proof of licensure from any province.
- Certification in Programmable Logic Control is an asset.
- Certificate of Qualification from the Ministry of Education, Ontario, Industrial Electrician 442A or Construction and Maintenance Electrician 309A is preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and dexterity with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify solutions promptly.
- Familiarity with PLC programming (AB/Siemens), data collection, and troubleshooting.
