Research Scientist I

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist I to assist Dr. Trott, Assistant Professor, Department of Kinesiology, with research studies and day-to-day laboratory tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
\u2022 Assist with all aspects of laboratory duties, including general inventory of supplies, mouse husbandry and colony maintenance, design and conduct of quantitative PCR assays, data collection and analysis, and maintenance of research records.
\u2022 Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement research protocols.
\u2022 Conduct literature reviews and stay up-to-date with the latest research in the field of Kinesiology.
\u2022 Maintain accurate and detailed records of research data and results.
\u2022 Participate in the development of research proposals and grant applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
\u2022 Bachelor's degree in Biology, Kinesiology, Bioengineering, or a related science field or the equivalent experience.
\u2022 Research experience in a wet lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
\u2022 Research experience in Kinesiology.
\u2022 Experience in quantitative PCR assays.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
\u2022 General knowledge and experience with cardiovascular and metabolism research.
\u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\u2022 Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
\u2022 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Other Requirements:
\u2022 UTA blood borne pathogen and biosafety level II training and certification.
\u2022 All relevant AALAC and UTA IACUC trainings.
