Position Overview: SLGA is in search of a dynamic, results-driven, and innovative leader to take on the role of Director, Supply Chain and Distribution. This position is crucial for directing and managing all facets of SLGA's liquor supply chain and distribution services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of purchasing, customs, transportation, and Distribution Centre (DC) operations to ensure alignment with SLGA's Liquor Wholesale objectives and strategic goals.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive human resource strategy, including oversight of 5 direct reports, workforce planning, training initiatives, and performance evaluation in a unionized setting for approximately 70 employees.
  • Prepare and deliver both written and verbal communications to employees, colleagues, and senior management.
  • Manage complex inbound and outbound transportation services, including establishing evaluation criteria for contract awards in compliance with government procurement standards.
  • Administer a health and safety management system that adheres to Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Oversee the physical assets of the DC, ensuring security, utility management, and maintenance of the facility and its equipment.
  • Provide insights into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) software and associated hardware.

Candidate Profile: This role is ideal for an experienced leader with a proven track record of building cohesive teams and achieving results through collaborative efforts.

Qualifications:

  • A Degree in Business Administration or a related field, complemented by 5 to 7 years of experience in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Experience in supply chain, distribution, or warehousing leadership is highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high-performance organization focused on cultivating a strong culture centered on excellence, engagement, and organizational values.
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while fostering strategic and productive working relationships.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
