About the Role
We are seeking a Vice President of Credit Risk Management with extensive knowledge and practical experience in overseeing credit risk (encompassing underwriting, model development, line management, portfolio oversight, forecasting, and collections) for substantial credit card portfolios. This position will report directly to our CEO, Bhavin Turakhia, and will lead a team of Analysts and Data Scientists dedicated to assisting our clients in optimizing Return on Equity (RoE) for various credit card programs targeting subprime and near-prime segments, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience across multiple facets of Credit Risk for large Credit Card Portfolios, including:
- Underwriting - Profound understanding and practical experience in the processes involved in developing, monitoring, and refining advanced Logistic Regression and XGBoost-based credit risk and underwriting models, utilizing bureau data, alternative data, and portfolio data.
- Credit Policy Development - Expertise in formulating underwriting criteria, drafting credit policies, and configuring adverse action protocols.
- Product Strategy - Defining commercial terms of products to enhance RoE and drive adoption.
- Portfolio Oversight - Experience in monitoring and expanding the performance and scale of credit card portfolios, minimizing delinquencies while maximizing revenue.
- Collections Strategy - Proficiency in establishing sophisticated contact and collections strategies that are both compliant and effective, leveraging top-tier tools.
- Financial Modeling - In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in constructing complex, multi-year financial models for credit cards (Income Statement and Balance Sheet), with detailed assumptions regarding relevant vintage curves.
- Systems Expertise - Comprehensive understanding of vendors and capabilities across all pertinent systems, including Application Processing, Loan Origination, Strategy Engines, Collections, and Analytics.

Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience (preferably 12+ years) in leading one or more areas of Credit Risk Management, Underwriting, Portfolio Oversight, and Collections for large-scale credit card portfolios.
- Degrees in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Statistics are desirable.
