We are seeking a highly skilled Master Electrician to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our facility operations team, you will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
- Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection regulations
- Conduct regular facility, mechanical and electrical equipment and system monitoring and inspection to ensure facility uptime objectives are met
- Provide observations and recommendations for enhancement and repair of facility, mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
- Respond to routine and on-demand service requests and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
- Record resolution data within service maintenance management database and ensure work completed meets quality and contract response requirements
- Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program and ensure that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated
- Participate in facility-related projects and ensure that work is performed in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines
- More than 4 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience
- High school diploma plus trades training and certification or licensing
- Advanced ability to adhere and execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Advanced ability to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment
- Advanced troubleshooting and resolution skills to determine and resolve building mechanical and electrical equipment and system issues
- Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset and ability to perform work in a safe manner
- Strong client-service orientation and high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
- Trade certification or license in one or more of the following - required: Master Electrician license (must be a member of the CCQ)
- Demonstrates an interest in completing, working towards or completed one or more of the following - preferred: Facilities Technician Certification, Systems Maintenance Technician through Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), Systems Maintenance Administrator through Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI)
- Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements
- Valid drivers' license
