Position Overview:

The Senior Vice President of Investment Strategies will oversee the strategic direction and management of the investment portfolio at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and strategic oversight for the Wellington-Altus Managed Accounts Platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice-President and senior management to align operational goals with the company's vision.
  • Drive program growth and maximize economic efficiency through effective advisor engagement and adoption of managed account solutions.
  • Act as the Designated Managed Account Supervisor, ensuring compliance and oversight of all managed accounts.
  • Implement and monitor strategies, policies, and key performance indicators for the discretionary managed channel.
  • Foster strong partnerships with service providers to enhance client experiences and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver training and support to Investment Advisors and Portfolio Managers, promoting best practices in portfolio management.
  • Conduct assessments and approvals for new regulatory applications related to Portfolio Management.
  • Maintain oversight of the UMA & SMA platforms, coordinating decisions on allocation and manager selection.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies related to securities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of supervisory and portfolio management experience.
  • Direct experience working with Investment Advisors and Portfolio Managers.
  • In-depth knowledge of securities industry products, capital markets, and investment strategies.
  • Completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program and/or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation.
  • Current licensing as a Registered Representative (RR) or Advising Representative (AR) under the Portfolio Manager category.
  • Proficiency in portfolio management and risk modeling systems, along with MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across various platforms.
  • Highly adaptive with the capability to manage multiple priorities.
