Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Line Design Engineer to join our team at West Power Energy. As a key member of our Transmission & Distribution practice, you will be responsible for designing and developing high voltage overhead transmission lines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and oversee all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees, and developing design criteria.
  • Prepare specifications for construction, hardware, and material for high voltage overhead transmission lines, including structure design and development, hardware design and selection, and field installation supervision.
  • Prepare construction drawings and cost estimates for high voltage overhead transmission lines.
  • Provide input and adhere to project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to less experienced staff members.
  • Lead teams of engineers and serve as a primary interface with clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer licensure.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Experience in 69kV to 500kV line design and working knowledge and/or expertise in Power Line system based programs.
