Position Summary:

The roles of Safety Watch and Spark Watch are crucial for the effective execution of turnaround projects, emphasizing quality and safety. This temporary position involves contributing to a pulp mill turnaround project, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections to mitigate flammable risks.
  • Execute safety watch, hole watch, atmospheric evaluations, spark/fire watch, and gas monitoring.
  • Oversee emergency zones, recognize hazards, and enforce safety measures.
  • Collaborate with the site team to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Comply with safety regulations and operational guidelines.
  • Fulfill additional relevant tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • No previous experience necessary; comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Steel-toe footwear is essential.
  • Participation in a full-day training session is required.
  • Availability for approximately 7 days of work is expected.
  • Local residency is preferred.
  • Personal transportation is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and maintain standing positions for extended durations.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards are essential.
