This role is designed for an individual who is passionate about serving others, exhibits exceptional organizational skills, and has a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be capable of managing time effectively, planning ahead while remaining flexible to changes, and maintaining a positive demeanor in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight (35%): Supervise daily financial operations across all departments, providing guidance and support to finance personnel, ensuring a robust accounting control framework, managing cash flow, reviewing monthly reconciliations, monitoring receivables, and overseeing payroll processing.
- Tuition Administration (25%): Act as the primary financial authority in the Tuition Management program, handling enrollment agreements and family communications regarding tuition matters.
- Regulatory Compliance (10%): Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles for non-profit organizations, prepare annual tax filings for charitable entities, and serve as the main liaison for external auditors.
- Financial Reporting (10%): Maintain accurate payroll records, fulfill governmental reporting requirements, and prepare timely monthly financial statements.
- Budgeting and Financial Planning (10%): Assist in the budget formulation process and the development of annual operating budgets.
Authority and Relationships:
This position will have direct reports including the Payroll Coordinator and Accounting Assistant. The Senior Financial Manager will also hold joint signing authority on organizational bank accounts and will approve invoices and payables.
Collaboration:
Engage with the Executive Team, Administration Team, HR Coordinator, Department Heads, and external stakeholders including financial institutions and auditors.
Core Competencies:
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.
- Skills: Proficient in financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting.
- Personal Attributes: Dependable, patient, and consistent.
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of an accounting degree or in progress; CPA designation preferred.
- A minimum of five years of combined accounting and finance experience, with prior experience as a Financial Manager being advantageous.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and managing month-end and year-end processes.
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Administration.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
