Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Teaching Assistant for the Reproductive Physiology course within the Midwifery Education Program.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing for and conducting classes, including the development of written and audiovisual materials.
  • Maintaining and updating course-related resources.
  • Assisting students with course assignments and facilitating their learning experience.
  • Holding office hours for student consultations, including virtual meetings.
  • Supporting the grading process for tests and assignments.
  • Proctoring examinations and quizzes.
  • Collaborating with the Supervising Instructor to enhance the educational experience.
  • Engaging with students through various communication platforms.
  • Coordinating virtual experiential learning opportunities as needed.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Work will be conducted on-site, and the Teaching Assistant must be available for in-person participation during scheduled class times.

Course Description

This course offers a comprehensive exploration of human reproductive systems, focusing on both intrinsic regulatory mechanisms and external influences affecting reproduction. It aims to provide a foundational understanding of normal reproductive processes and the impact of various medical conditions.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in health sciences or a related field.
  • Additional qualifications in midwifery or related disciplines are advantageous.
  • Clinical experience or knowledge of midwifery practices in Ontario is preferred.
  • Experience in virtual teaching environments is a plus.
  • Prior teaching experience within the Midwifery Education Program is desirable.

Compensation
