About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Escalator Mechanic to join our team at Venture Elevator Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our escalators and elevators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Installation Work: Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of system components, perform preparatory construction work including steel work, wiring, and piping.
  • Installation and Testing: Install escalators, elevators, moving walkways, dumbwaiters, and related equipment according to specifications, connect car frames to counterweights with cables, and assemble elevator cars.
  • Electrical and Electronic Work: Install and wire electric and electronic control system devices, install, test, and adjust safety control devices.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures, disassemble defective units, and repair or replace worn or suspect parts, adjust valves, ratchets, seals, brake linings, and other components.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out preventative maintenance programs to ensure public safety.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience as an Escalator Mechanic is required.
  • Licence/Certification: An Escalator Mechanic Journeyman Certificate is required.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
