About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Sullivan Animal Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Animal Conditions: Conduct thorough physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
  • Provide Medical Care: Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery as needed.
  • Preventative Care: Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases, and advise clients on preventative measures such as feeding, housing, and hygiene practices.
  • Client Education: Provide clients with guidance on the general care and well-being of their animals, including breeding, behavior, and nutrition.
  • Examinations and Procedures: Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations as required.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers to ensure the highest level of care and service.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
  • Experience: Experience in a veterinary setting is an asset.
  • Work Setting: Veterinary clinic.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week.
