Pharmacy Technician

CareRx is a leading provider of pharmacy services to seniors communities in Canada. We serve over 92,000 residents in more than 1,500 seniors and other congregate care communities, including long-term care homes, retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes.
We are a national organization with a large network of pharmacy fulfillment centers strategically located across the country. This enables us to deliver medications in a timely and cost-effective manner and quickly respond to routine changes in medication management.
We utilize best-in-class technology that automates the preparation and verification of multi-dose compliance packaging of medication, ensuring the highest levels of safety and adherence for individuals with complex medication regimens.
We collaborate closely with our home operator partners to promote resident health, staff education, and medication system quality and efficiency.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure accurate, safe, and timely medication dispensing while optimizing medication continuity and resident outcomes.
- Complete daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures.
- Consult with pharmacy management team members when resolving issues related to daily work functions.
- Provide exceptional customer care to seniors homes and retirement communities serviced by CareRx Pharmacy, offering support as needed to ensure outstanding care and service at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the resident care team while maintaining professionalism, adhering to corporate policies to ensure the highest standard of customer care, optimal resident care, and quality of pharmacy service.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete resident health records, ensuring appropriate documentation and continuity of care at all times.
- Comply with all provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
- Adhere to all corporate regulations, policies, and procedures at all times.
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory.
- Participate in training and support for newly hired and existing pharmacy team members as required.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education, remaining current in pharmaceutical, medical, and professional licensing information, as well as corporate updates, policies, and standards.
- Prepare and compound medications as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- Registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (RPhT).
- Proven ability to foster strong partnerships with other healthcare team members.
- Effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated high level of fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and ability to interact with persons of varying levels of professional expertise in a professional and mature manner.
- Skilled in critical thought processes and able to prioritize appropriately.
- Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision, and able to work independently.
- Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality.
- Dependable and responsible in the execution of job duties.
- Ability to demonstrate good listening skills and adapt to internal work changes and changes in the job environment.
- Knowledge of Kroll.
- Knowledge of Point Click Care (PCC).
- Experience with Med e-care.
- Experience with PACMed/PACVision.
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs.
- Understanding of provincial regulations governing LTC homes and Retirement Communities.
