The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Lead Performance Auditor within the Office of the Auditor General. This position is integral to ensuring accountability and transparency in government operations.

Role Summary: As a Lead Performance Auditor, you will report directly to an Audit Principal and play a crucial role in the execution of performance audits. Your responsibilities will encompass the planning, execution, and reporting phases of audits, adhering to established professional standards and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive audit plans and strategies.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of systems and processes.
- Analyze complex data and identify key findings.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing audit outcomes.
- Mentor and guide junior auditors in their professional development.
- Engage in limited travel within the province as necessary.
Essential Qualifications:
- Possession of a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Demonstrated experience in internal auditing, program evaluation, or policy analysis.
- Proven ability to present findings in written formats such as reports and briefing notes.
- Experience collaborating in team environments on projects.
- Strong analytical skills to address complex audit issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
Asset Qualifications:
- Familiarity with SAP and CAAT software.
- Knowledge of Canadian Standards on Assurance Engagements (CSAE).
- Experience in health administration or public health sectors.
