This is a part-time teaching position at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Arts & Science, Department of Statistical Sciences.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified instructor to teach a course on Numerical Methods for Finance and Insurance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mathematical finance and experience in teaching at the university level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver lectures in the course
  • Supervise teaching assistants assigned to the course
  • Prepare, supervise, and grade assignments, tests, and examinations in accordance with university regulations
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Mathematical Finance
  • At least five years of experience in risk management in the finance industry
  • Prior experience teaching at the university level
  • Prior experience teaching STA2570 or a similar course is an asset
Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, with a variable schedule that may include evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to work on campus.

Salary:

The salary for this position will be negotiated based on industry experience. The rates for Sessional Lecturers at the University of Toronto are as follows:

  • Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90
  • Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $9,930.79
  • Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77
  • Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,326.62
  • Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76
  • Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $10,570.02
