The Opportunity – Head of Engineering (Remote - USA / CANADA)

We are seeking a Head of Engineering who will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to establish a premier technology enterprise. In this position, you will utilize your extensive technical expertise to ensure that technical decisions are made with precision, aligning with the strategic goals of the organization. You will cultivate high-performing teams characterized by accountability and psychological safety, leading to optimal solutions for challenges. Your strong customer orientation will enable you to identify where technical capabilities and client needs intersect, resulting in straightforward and effective solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will empower you to spearhead initiatives within the engineering domain and influence the wider organization effectively. You will also be tasked with developing technical roadmaps alongside your team, focusing on new problem areas and untapped business opportunities.

The Production Finance division at Wrapbook is responsible for a suite of cost-management and accounting tools that are essential for our film and television clientele. Production Accountants can effectively manage purchase orders, monitor actual expenditures against their budgets, and process vendor payments in real-time, all from a single platform. This is an exciting phase for Production Finance as we explore new market segments, offering numerous opportunities. However, this growth requires the ability to navigate uncertainty and possess strong prioritization skills, providing a realistic perspective on the challenges and opportunities inherent in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality, reliable products that resonate with customers.
  • Promote an inclusive team culture where members can excel.
  • Empower your team to tackle challenges while providing necessary context and boundaries.
  • Collaborate with product, UX, Data, and other teams to identify optimal solutions for our clients.
  • Lead projects that create significant impact across engineering and the broader organization.
  • Expand the team through internal development and external recruitment.
  • Advocate for rapid iterative development supported by experimentation and analysis.
  • Ensure a balanced focus on both short-term and long-term objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Over 3 years of experience in engineering management, including managing other managers.
  • Technical proficiency in relevant areas, particularly in the design, implementation, and maintenance of web services and/or infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience guiding teams through transitions in a growing organization.
  • Demonstrated success in building and nurturing development teams.
  • A strong commitment to quality, technical excellence, and results.
  • Familiarity with Scrum or Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in Accounting is advantageous.
