Position Overview:

We are seeking an Asset Management Specialist to join our dynamic Stride Capital team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the management and disposition of off-lease assets.

Role Summary:

The Asset Management Specialist will report directly to the Director of Leasing Operations. This individual should possess a proactive mindset and thrive in a fast-paced, stimulating environment. The primary responsibility will be to formulate and implement strategies for the effective disposal of off-lease assets, collaborating with external marketers and relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of surrendered assets, ensuring proper documentation, conducting lien searches, and evaluating units for resale.
  • Coordinate the seizure of assets, including legal documentation and the complete collection process.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with legal representatives, providing updated financial records, reviewing legal documents, and assisting with research as cases progress.
  • Prepare comprehensive packages for relevant stakeholders.
  • Administer claims through small claims court, managing all stages up to judgment.
  • Document all communications in the designated management system.
  • Monitor the various phases of asset transition from seizure to the collection of outstanding balances.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation related to debt mediation.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management or equipment leasing.
  • Familiarity with business credit and security documentation, along with a solid understanding of contract law as it pertains to security agreements.
  • Experience managing challenging accounts and a practical understanding of collection processes.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively handle complex discussions.

Education:

  • A post-secondary degree in Business or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees such as an MBA, CPA, or CFA are considered an asset.
